This 1966 US Savings Bond commercial is the only film with sound that Kim Carlson Benner (board member of Mission: POW-MIA) has of her father, Captain John W Carlson (US Air Force). The commercial, filmed sometime between May and December 1966 in Vietnam, shows Captain Carlson at the Bien Hoa Air Base in front of a modified F-5C (AKA “Skoshi Tiger”, part of Northrop Grumman’s combat evaluation program of the F-5C/D). This commercial first aired shortly after Kim’s father was KIA/BNR in South Vietnam on December 7, 1966 and was pulled when the TV station was notified of his death.

Members of Mission POW-MIA had a booth at the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War Commemoration held in Washington, D.C., to make sure people were still aware of those missing in action.
"This is a compilation of videos that my Dad took with his 8mm video camera while stationed aboard the USS America in the late '60s. Several years ago, my Mom had all the film digitized and gave it to me as a Christmas gift. I have truly enjoyed watching them but wanted to do something more...something that would help keep his legacy alive. I spent hours in Premiere Pro going through each video and editing them in order to create this tribute. It was fun and painful all in one. The audio at the end is from a reel-to-reel tape that we have had for over 50 years. I had it digitized about 5 years ago when I felt I could finally bring myself to listen to it."
Thank you to Eric Fort, son of LT Eric Brice, for this amazing video footage he created in honor of his Dad.
